THE BLACK COUNTRY LIVE STEAMERS

Formed in 1993 the society now 27 years later has over 50 members, their interests are in the building and operating of miniature steam road vehicles and stationary steam plant, along with some full size counterparts. We are situated in a part of the West Midlands known as The Black Country, the name being derived from the effects of the heavy industry which concentrated in the area from the time of the industrial revolution, majority of which has now disappeared.

After 17years based at The Bratch Pumping Station the club moved to another historic building Blowers Green Pump House, several years on the club moved to our present home in Baggeridge Country Park. We hold monthly meetings in the Lydiate room on the last Thursday of the month and attend many steam rally’s, fetes etc at weekends during the summer.

Boiler testing facilities are available to members through our affiliation with The Southern Federation Of Model Engineering Societies.
